Well, get to know her. I never say yes to a guy who just goes "I'm _____, do you _____". If you guys don't really know each other, see if any of your friends is friends with or dating one of her friends. Then find a chance to get a group of people to go hang out. Should be a subtle and fun way to get to know her. What will likely happen is, if its like you said and she knows you like her, is she will ask something similar to "Are you just getting to know me so you could ask me out?". If/when she does, simply reply, "And if I am?" Makes sure you say this both jokingly and seriously. This simple phrase is both cute and shows confidence if said right.

If you don't really know her, but don't know any of her friends, use a more straightforward aproach. Go up to her and just say something like "Hey, remember me? You know... we go to the same school? (say this with a slight chuckle). Anyway, I was wondering if you'd _____" I know I said I hate guys that ask my out before they know me, but some girls love guys that are straightforward. (just don't overdo it) This way will definately show confidence, but also requires the guy to actually have th confidence.

The last way, for the shy ones, is to slowly but directly get to know her. If you have any classes with her, is to start making some light conversation. Best way is to look at what she wears. If she wears a band T-shirt (which is pretty common where I'm from) , then you're in luck. Or maybe if you see some sort of patch on her bag or jacket, or maybe a sticker or picture on a binder. Look at what band is and see if you know who they are. If not, go home and listen to some of their songs and see if you like then. Then, simply wait for a time where you're near her, like maybe leaving a class. I would suggest in hallways but that is usually too loud and requires you to speak in a slightly louder voice, which may make you a bit self concious. Anyway, simply wait for when you get a chance to talk to her (preferably a day when she has the same T-shirt on, jacket on, sticker on her binder; and just subtly go, "Oh you like ____? Yeah, I think that _______ was pretty good, and ______ has some really good lyrics" Or something similar. even if you guys don't agree completely, she should be none the less that much more curious about you. Then slowly get a bit more friendly. After a couple times of some light conversation, start saying hi to her when you guys see each other (I didn't say, "when you see her" cause you should go out of your way to go and get her attention, then say hi) You should know what to do from there.

As I said with bigwhite, I don't know the type of person you or that girl is, so its up to you to see if my advice fits and if you think it will be effective. What I gave above it pretty "generic" advice, and I've seen these ways work for teenage relationships, but I'm still too young myself to know much about the more adult dating scene, so User beware =]

Also, Its 11:00 right now, and I'm not really in the mood to write some more scenarios. I'll maybe write a bit more tomorrow, but right now I'm gonna call some friends up in a couple minutes and see if they wanna go catch a movie.
