Did the server just go down?

yeah i don't klnow that for sure but im damn sure i've read something about making your ip dynamic somewhere

you could change your ip addresses if you have a router.

I know this kinda stuff guys,

If you have a dynamic IP, it changes everytime you reboot either your modem or you computer...

If you have a STATIC IP, like what you need to host a private server, then it memorizes the IP and it keeps it until your internet provider has a reason to change it.

noir is right, my internet provider is a dynamic service, if I disconnect my modem for 30 seconds it resets and i have a brand new IP, when I used to run a server for a P2P client I had to install software to create a static IP for people to connect. But I have been away for the past few days anyone care to give me a quick update of whats going on?

The big picture is that someone named maplefail, apparently from the PS, Maple Fail, has been trying to sabotage our server by packet editing tons of monsters and bosses into the FM/HT Caves to lag the server and shut it off, as much as their affect can reach.

And we were just talking about the ways we could ban a person with a dynamic IP without him returning to f*** up the server again.

I guess, but just to state that that's WHY we were talking about IP adresses. I guess I shoulda been a bit clearer.
